Stephanie Beard realized at the age of 6 years old that she wanted to be a performer when she received her first vocal lesson from Jan Gervais; a legend of Sweet Adelines, Region 12, and previous director of Pacific Empire Chorus from Petaluma, CA. She officially started acting at 8 years old in the local H-Town Youth theatre in Healdsburg, after having been studying Jazz, Hip Hop, and Ballet at the Healdsburg Ballet from the ages of 4-8 years old. Stephanie will always cherish the fond memories of singing Karaoke with her parents every week till she was 12. After that, Sweet Adelines had opened up new opportunities for her to learn, grow, and compete along side her mom and her friends, having joined her first chorus at 12 years old in 2014. She has found her true calling, Barbershop Acappella. Stephanie has gone on to receive her first First Place Medal as a chorus member and as a 2 time Regional Barbershop Quartet Champion in 2019 with RetroActive, and then in May of 2023 with Gusto!. Stephanie also achieved her Vocal AA Degree from the Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, CA in May of 2023. Ms. Beard loves coaching on how to use a healthy speech level vocal technique as well as read music, basic piano skills, and begin to learn the skill of sight read, to prepare ages for High School and College Level music courses. Her impeccable ear and respect for music has helped her coach any singer on how to improve their voice and overall performance, if you give her the opportunity.
